In a move aimed at ensuring safety and transparency for commuters and delivery service users, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has approved a draft policy for regulating cab aggregators and delivery service providers operating in the city.CM gives his nod to the Motor Vehicle aggregator Scheme 2023.
This is aimed at regulating cab-aggregators and delivery service providers in the national capital. A draft of the scheme was approved by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday and now has been sent to the Delhi LG. The draft will be put up for public feedback and comments by the Transport Department, after which it will be given its final shape.
Similarly, delivery service providers such as Zomato and Swiggy might be required to provide information about their delivery personnel, including their full names, addresses, and vehicle details. The policy might mandate that all delivery personnel must undergo police verification and have valid driving licences.
In addition to ensuring safety and transparency, the policy also includes provisions for resolving disputes between cab aggregators and their drivers and between delivery service providers and their delivery personnel. The policy mandates that all cab aggregators and delivery service providers must have a mechanism in place for redressing grievances and resolving disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
The policy is expected to be implemented soon, after receiving the necessary approvals from the Delhi government.
