In a stunning display of skill and precision, Indian duo Sarabjot Singh and Divya Singh claimed the mixed air pistol gold medal at the World Cup in Baku, Azerbaijan on Thursday. Their victory was all the more impressive as they defeated the formidable Serbian pair of Zorana Arunovic and Damir Mikec, who are both World Champions. By defeating them by 16-14.
The two teams had tied on 14-14 ,Sarbjit then shot a 10.6 and Divya 9.9 Zorana shot 8.6 and Mike had 10.3 with 20.5 against 18.9 , the Indian pair got the gold .
The other Indian team of Esha Singh and Varun Tomar scored 578 and missed the medal by two points.This was a second medal for India following the women’s air pistol bronze by Rhythm Sangwan . With this India became second on the medals table behind China which had one gold and one silver , the Chinese had got both the medals in mixed air rifle . The Indian duo of Tilottama Sen and Hriday Hazarika was place 17th in a total of 72 teams.
