Hockey World Cup 2023: Team India comes One Step Closer to Quarter Finals by Defeating Wales

Ind Vs WAL Scorecard: The Indian team has registered another win in the Hockey World Cup. The team of Wales, which is considered weak, has been defeated 4-2.

India VS New Zealand World Cup
INDIA VS NEW ZEALAND

There is good news for Indian fans on Thursday from Hockey World Cup 2023. Team India has defeated Wales 4-2 in the last match of Group-D. After a draw match with England, it was a do or die match for India. Despite this victory, the Indian team has not been able to reach the quarterfinals directly. Now India will face New Zealand. In the crossover match, the match will be held on January 22 at the Kalinga Stadium itself. 

The IND Vs NZ match will decide the quarter-finals. 
The winning team of the match between India and New Zealand will get a chance to play in the quarter-finals. After England’s draw, the Indian team needed a win. Although considered weak, Wales also managed to score 2 goals. 

Akashdeep Singh played an important role in the victory of the Indian team and he scored 2 goals. Captain Harmanpreet Singh also scored a goal in this important match while Shamsher Singh was also successful in scoring a goal. 

India finished second in Group D, now have to play crossover 
India has finished second in its Group-D. India had 7 points from three matches with two wins and one draw and England also have only 7 points. However, on the basis of better goal average, England have entered the quarter finals directly. New Zealand has finished third in Group C and now the winning team in the crossover match will reach the quarter finals. This match will be played on January 22 at the Kalinga Stadium.
