The district administration of Sepahijala district has firmly rejected allegations and misinformation circulating about the inclusion of Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas in the newly declared Bishramganj Nagar Panchayat. Officials have termed such claims as misleading and intended to create unnecessary confusion among the public.

According to the administration, the formation of Bishramganj Nagar Panchayat has been carried out strictly in accordance with established legal procedures. The process involved the consolidation of a few rapidly developing Gram Panchayats located adjacent to the Bishramganj market area, aimed at facilitating planned urban growth and improved civic administration.

The district authorities categorically clarified that no area under the Autonomous District Council has been included in the jurisdiction of the newly formed Nagar Panchayat. Officials further emphasised that there is neither any legal provision nor administrative scope to incorporate ADC areas within a municipal structure.

District Magistrate and Collector of Sepahijala, Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, addressed the issue while interacting with local media. He stated that the entire exercise was conducted transparently, strictly following existing laws and rules, leaving no room for ambiguity or misinterpretation.

The District Magistrate appealed to citizens to refrain from believing rumours spread through unofficial channels and urged them to rely solely on verified information released by the district administration. He also called upon all sections of society to maintain social harmony and avoid sharing unverified content on social media platforms.

The clarification comes amid the completion of the final ward delimitation process for urban local bodies in Sepahijala district. The Government of Tripura has officially notified the final delimitation of municipal constituencies, which came into effect immediately upon publication.

As per the official notification, the final ward delimitation covers the municipal areas of Bishalgarh Municipal Council, Melaghar Municipal Council, Sonamura Nagar Panchayat, and Bishramganj Nagar Panchayat. The exercise was carried out in accordance with the Tripura Municipal Act, 1994, and the Tripura Municipal (Delimitation of Constituencies) Rules, 1994.

Earlier, a draft delimitation was published on December 23, 2025, inviting claims, objections, and suggestions from the public. Submissions received between December 23 and December 30, 2025, were carefully examined by the competent authority before finalising the ward boundaries. The final delimitation order was issued on December 31, 2025, and is now in force.

The district administration reiterated that no ADC areas have been affected by the delimitation process. Copies of the final notification are available on the official website of the District Magistrate and Collector, Sepahijala, and at the offices of the Sub-Divisional Magistrates at Bishalgarh and Sonamura.
