Last week, a young man attempted to set himself on fire in front of the official residence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Sadly, the youth, identified as Anand Mishra from Unnao, passed away on Monday due to his severe burns. The Lucknow police confirmed the news and shared that the deceased had been admitted to the Civil Hospital in Lucknow for treatment.
According to the Emergency Medical Officer of Civil Hospital, Rahul Kashyap, the police present at the CM’s residence reported that the youth had brought inflammable material with him and set himself on fire. During his treatment, Mishra made serious allegations of harassment against Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Bamba Lal Diwakar. In response, Diwakar filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the deceased for giving him threats. This move came after a Facebook post and audio of Mishra went viral in which he was seen threatening the BJP MLA.
The investigation into the matter is still ongoing. However, it is important to note that the FIR filed by Diwakar has been met with criticism from some who believe that it was an attempt to deflect attention from the threats made against him. Additionally, the investigation has revealed that Mishra had a history of mental health issues and was not receiving proper treatment. This tragedy serves as a reminder of the urgent need for better mental health resources and support in our society. It is a tragic incident that highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the need for support systems for those struggling with mental health issues.
