In the rank of colonial, the army has begun recruiting female officers. For the last few years, this post was just for men and out of the domain of female officers from January 9 to January 22, 2023, a special board has been conducted which will promote the female officers to a much higher ranking officer this board has been named as special number 3.
Gender parity has been assured regarding the step vacancy was released by the government. Women officers are to be inducted into the corps of artillery and this was highlighted by Army chief general Manoj Pandey.
Now there has been out of competition as there is only 108 vacancy and a total of 244 of them are being taken for the post.
Supreme Court passed the judgment on 17th February 2020 and allowed permanent commission for female officers. Out of 108 some of them will be declared fit and apt for the various command assignments.The first set of officers will be released by the last week of January 2023.
If some apprehension arises will be doing their jobs on the half of Selection Board as an observer. These observers will clarify any doubts and will approve fair conduct only the batch is going to be promoted between 1992 to 2006.
Some of the various fields in which the services will be given are:-
- Engineers
- Army Ordinance Corps
- Army service cops
- mechanical engineers
Higher leadership goals will be built up within these women officers and for all of this, they have to undergo special training courses and tough assignments related to the military. 10 year’s service payment with the permanent commission has also been commenced.
