Smriti Irani calls rahul Gandhi out on declaring her as missing

In a war of words between political rivals, Union Minister Smriti Irani took a sharp jibe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after the party’s official Twitter handle declared her as “missing.” Responding to the tweet, Irani sarcastically referred to Rahul Gandhi as an “O divine political creature” and stated that she was in Amethi, inviting anyone in search of the former Member of Parliament (MP) to “contact US.”

Irani, who had emerged victorious in the 2019 general elections by defeating Rahul Gandhi in Amethi, did not miss the opportunity to remind him of her presence in the constituency. Her response subtly indicated that while she was actively engaged in serving the people of Amethi, Rahul Gandhi’s absence was noticeable.

Rahul Gandhi, who lost the Amethi constituency but won in Kerala’s Wayanad, is currently facing a two-year jail sentence in a defamation case. The Congress leader is currently on a six-day visit to the United States, where he has been criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, much to the chagrin of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During a gathering in San Francisco, Rahul Gandhi made remarks suggesting that Prime Minister Modi would confuse God with his explanations about the functioning of the universe. He also accused the government of displaying mediocrity and an unwillingness to listen. These comments sparked a strong response from Union Minister Anurag Thakur, who accused Gandhi of “insulting India” and being unable to accept the praise and admiration Prime Minister Modi has received during his foreign visits.

Thakur highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s recent diplomatic engagements, which involved meetings with nearly 24 heads of state and government and over 50 bilateral meetings. The Prime Minister’s international stature and popularity have been acknowledged by several world leaders. The Australian Prime Minister’s comment, referring to Modi as “the Boss,” particularly irked Rahul Gandhi, according to Thakur.

In his scathing response, Thakur suggested that Rahul Gandhi belongs to a group of individuals who believe they can explain history to historians, science to scientists, and warfare to the armed forces. The Union Minister condemned Gandhi’s criticism of the Prime Minister during his visit to the United States and deemed it disrespectful to India.

The exchange between Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi highlights the ongoing political rivalry between the BJP and the Congress party. While Irani used the opportunity to emphasize her presence in Amethi and taunt Gandhi’s absence, the Congress leader used his foreign visit to criticize the Prime Minister. The political discourse remains heated, with both sides engaging in verbal sparring to gain an upper hand in the public domain.

As the political landscape evolves, it will be interesting to see how these exchanges influence public opinion and shape the dynamics between the BJP and the Congress party in the coming months.
