Insha Mushtaq, an 18-year-old girl from Shopian district in south Kashmir, who lost her sight after being hit by pellets in 2016, has displayed remarkable determination by passing her Class 12 board exams in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite facing immense challenges, Insha secured 319 marks in the examination.
Expressing her joy, Insha thanked her parents for their unwavering support and credited her success to the teachers who taught and supported her after she lost her vision. Despite undergoing numerous surgeries, both in and outside of Jammu and Kashmir, her vision could not be restored.
The declaration of the Class 12 exam results by the J&K State Board of School Education brought a sense of achievement to Insha and her family. The overall pass percentage stood at 64.59%, with a significant number of candidates successfully qualifying for higher education.
Insha’s story serves as an inspiration to many, highlighting the power of determination and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the challenges posed by her visual impairment, she has shown the world that education and personal growth are not limited by physical limitations. Her journey underscores the importance of inclusive education and support systems for individuals with disabilities.
