Rajesh Kumar, known for his role as Rosesh in the popular show Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, recently discussed the second season’s failure and his new project Yeh Meri Family. In 2004, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai became a cult hit, and despite fans’ requests, the show concluded in 2006. However, it was revived as a digital series in 2017, which failed to recreate the magic of the original. Despite this, fans continue to urge the creators for another season.
During the promotion of Yeh Meri Family, Rajesh Kumar was asked about the potential return of Sarabhai vs Sarabhai. He mentioned that there were no ongoing discussions but suggested that if it is meant to happen, it will eventually materialize.
Reflecting on the second season’s lackluster response, Rajesh attributed it to the limited popularity of OTT platforms at the time. He believed that Sarabhai vs Sarabhai was ahead of its time and that the timing for web shows was not ideal. However, he emphasized that good content has the potential to attract an audience, highlighting the importance of originality and freshness in storytelling.
Speaking about Yeh Meri Family, Rajesh expressed that amidst the abundance of over-the-top drama and thrillers, a simple and relatable show like his would stand out, providing an enjoyable experience for families. He discussed the evolving nature of parenting, emphasizing the importance of perceiving children as individuals and nurturing their values and character. For Rajesh, parenting is not about academic scores but about fostering secure individuals who contribute positively to society.
Yeh Meri Family, also starring Juhi Parmar and Hetal Gada, is currently streaming on Amazon MiniTV.
