MV Ganga Vilas , the cruise , is the world’s longest river cruise. It will initiate its sailing from Varanasi and will sail around 3,200 km in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh .
Prime Minister Modi will give a green signal to MV Ganga Vilas , “The worlds longest River Cruise”. A “Tent City” will also be inaugurated on the banks of the Ganga River in Varanasi on 13 January . PM’s office stated in a statement that he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various other inland waterway projects worth more than Rs 1000 crore .
PM modi also said that the 51 day river cruise is a great opportunity to get connected with the country’s cultural roots and discover beautiful variances of its diversity. The cruise has three decks , 18 suites on board with a capacity of carrying 36 tourists. The suite will have all luxury amenities . The maiden voyage has 32 tourists from Switzerland signing up for the entire length of the journey.
This journey will be giving the tourists a way to embark upon an experiential voyage . People will learn to engage in the art , culture, history, and spirituality of India and Bangladesh.
The tent city in Varanasi is based on the view of tapping the potential of tourism in this area. The launching of this cruise program will help in opening the large potential of the tourism sector. It is going to be a great step to promote what India has in abundance, that is , its beauty and culture. This cruise program will showcase the bests that our country has gotten .
This project has been developed opposite City Ghats . It will provide accommodation facilities and would also facilitate to the increased tourist arrivals in Varanasi . This is especially after the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
The tourists will reach the “Tent City” by boats from different Ghats situated in the areas. The MV Ganga Vilas is going to be a huge turn towards the cultural aspects of the country.
