India is renowned for its delicious mangoes, and several states contribute significantly to the country’s mango production. Here are the top mango-producing states in India:

Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh holds the distinction of being the largest mango-producing state in India. The region boasts a wide range of mango varieties, including the popular Dussehri, Langra, and Chausa.

Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh is known for its mango orchards, particularly in the districts of Krishna, Chittoor, and West Godavari. The state produces a variety of mangoes, with the Banganapalli and Totapuri being among the most prominent.

Bihar: Bihar has a rich history of mango cultivation, and it ranks high in mango production. The state is famous for its exquisite varieties like the Kesar, Gulabkhas, and Amrapali.

Gujarat: Gujarat is known for its vibrant mango orchards, primarily in the districts of Junagadh, Bhavnagar, and Gir-Somnath. The state produces a wide range of mangoes, including the famous Kesar mango, known for its distinct flavor and aroma.

Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu has a significant mango cultivation belt in its southern districts, including Salem, Krishnagiri, and Dharmapuri. The state is renowned for its Alphonso mangoes, also known as the “King of Mangoes.”

Karnataka: Karnataka is a major mango-producing state, with the districts of Kolar, Ramanagara, and Chikkaballapur being prominent mango-growing regions. The state is known for the Raspuri and Badami mango varieties.

Maharashtra: Maharashtra is home to a thriving mango industry, particularly in the Konkan region. Alphonso, commonly known as Hapus, is the most sought-after mango variety from the state. Other varieties like Kesar and Totapuri are also cultivated.

West Bengal: West Bengal, particularly the Malda and Murshidabad districts, contributes significantly to mango production. The state is famous for its Langra and Himsagar mangoes, which are highly regarded for their exquisite taste.

These states, with their favorable climate and rich agricultural practices, play a pivotal role in India’s mango production, delighting mango lovers across the country and beyond with their diverse and flavorful mango varieties.
