The International Cricket Council (ICC) has thanked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for successfully hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which was the biggest Cricket World Cup ever.
The tournament, which was held in India from October 5 to November 26, 2023, was a resounding success, with record-breaking crowds and viewership numbers. The BCCI’s organizational skills and the passion of the Indian fans were key to the tournament’s success.
“I would like to thank the BCCI for their outstanding hosting of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023,” ICC CEO Geoff Allardice said in a statement. “The tournament was a resounding success, and the BCCI’s hard work and dedication were evident throughout. They set a new standard for hosting Cricket World Cups, and I am confident that future tournaments will continue to build on this success.”
The BCCI was also praised for its commitment to sustainability and its efforts to reduce the tournament’s environmental impact.
