Parakala Vangamayi, the daughter of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, recently tied the knot with Pratik Doshi in a simple ceremony held in Bengaluru. The wedding, attended by close family and friends, was free from the presence of political leaders, according to reports.
Multiple sources have confirmed that Parakala Vangamayi, formerly associated with The Hindu and currently linked to Mint Lounge, exchanged vows with Pratik Doshi, who hails from Gujarat and serves as a key aide to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A widely circulated video on social media captured the wedding ceremony, with Sitharaman standing behind the bride as Hindu priests conducted the rituals following the Vedic traditions of the Adamaru Mutt, as reported by The Hindustan Times.
Pratik Doshi, as mentioned on the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) website, holds the position of an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) and plays a significant role in the research and strategy wing. His responsibilities include providing secretarial assistance to the Prime Minister on matters related to research and strategy, in accordance with the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules, 1961.
Doshi, a graduate of the Singapore Management School, previously served as a research assistant in the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) during Narendra Modi’s tenure as the Chief Minister. After relocating to Delhi in 2014 when Modi assumed the role of Prime Minister, Doshi was promoted to the rank of joint secretary in June 2019.
The wedding ceremony of Parakala Vangamayi and Pratik Doshi marked a joyous occasion celebrated among their close family and friends. As both individuals come from backgrounds closely associated with politics and journalism, their union has garnered attention. The couple’s marriage signifies the merging of personal lives intertwined with their professional journeys.
