Introduction

The next crucial step in Chandrayaan-3’s mission is scheduled for August 17. ISRO plans to execute the separation of the Lander Module from the Propulsion Module on this day. Also a critical step in preparing for the upcoming lunar landing. The spacecraft’s propulsion module will then gear up for a separate journey. As the Lander Module readies itself for the challenging task ahead.

The spacecraft is poised to descend to the lunar surface from an orbit where the closest point to the Moon (Perilune). This is at a distance of 30 km, while the farthest point (Apolune) is positioned 100 km away.
