In a horrific incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 13-year-old girl was brutally murdered by her own brother after she got her first period. The incident occurred in the Thane district of Maharashtra, India.
According to sources, the girl had just started menstruating for the first time, and her brother a security guard aged 30 , who was unaware of the biological process, saw it as an affair and became enraged. He allegedly attacked his sister with a sharp object, causing fatal injuries. He also signed her with tongs on her tongue, back and other body parts leading to burn marks .
The family members immediately rushed the girl to the Central hospital in Ulhasnagar , but she succumbed to her injuries on the way. The brother was subsequently arrested and is currently in police custody.
A case of murder has been registered under section 302 of Indian Penal Code.
