CM of Karnataka set targets for cabinet

With a newly formed full-fledged government, Siddaramaiah has urged his colleagues to work towards winning at least 20 out of the total 28 seats in the upcoming national elections. The Chief Minister’s directive came as he filled all 34 seats in his Cabinet, inducting 24 new ministers on Saturday.Emphasizing the importance of the upcoming elections, Siddaramaiah expressed his desire to secure a significant victory for the party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as party leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi. In a statement from the chief minister’s office, he urged the ministers to approach their responsibilities with commitment, honesty, and agility, keeping the electoral goal in mind.

“We should strive sincerely to ensure that the guarantees assured by us reach the people. The mistakes of the past should not be repeated this time,” Siddaramaiah stated. He assured the ministers that the allocation of portfolios would be completed soon and encouraged them to actively engage in their work. The Chief Minister highlighted that the rejection of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s misrule by the people during their time in opposition demonstrated their support.

Siddaramaiah emphasized the need to address local issues promptly and prevent citizens from undergoing unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles. He urged the ministers to focus on resolving problems at the district and taluk levels rather than forcing people to visit the state legislature and secretariat, known as the Vidhana Soudha, for minor matters. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of pro-people governance and the aim to achieve an unprecedented victory in the Lok Sabha elections once again through their work.

Furthermore, Siddaramaiah reminded the ministers of their responsibility to listen to the concerns of the people and respond to them effectively. He acknowledged the trust placed in their administration by the state’s residents and expressed the need to deliver a pro-people government that meets their expectations. Siddaramaiah viewed the current political climate as an opportunity to end what he referred to as the misrule of the central government through the state of Karnataka.

To fulfill these objectives, the Chief Minister urged the ministers to extensively travel to their respective districts and address local issues. Additionally, he instructed them to maintain strict oversight of government officials and take a firm stance against corruption. Siddaramaiah concluded by conveying his best wishes to the ministers, expressing his confidence in their ability to meet the set targets.

As the ministers gear up for the crucial Lok Sabha elections in 2024, it remains to be seen how their efforts and commitment will translate into electoral success. With the Chief Minister’s guidance and the party’s collective determination, the government aims to secure a resounding victory, which they believe will pave the way for a pro-people administration and contribute to ending what they perceive as the misrule of the central government.
