The telecom company has been in dialogue with a consortium of banks to secure these funds. In a recent development, Vodafone Idea received funding assurance of up to ₹2,000 crore from a promoter group entity, a disclosure made in a regulatory filing. Moondra highlighted that one of the company’s promoters has committed to providing ₹2,000 crore in support . Although additional external funding is still needed.
Despite its challenges, Vodafone Idea has not remained idle. The company has expressed a commitment to expanding its 4G coverage and investing in 5G technology to stem the decline in its customer base. The need to boost revenues has prompted considerations of adjusting mobile service rates. The company’s average revenue per user (ARPU) has increased to ₹139 during the June quarter, up from ₹128 a year earlier.
