On a Saturday night, two groups of men engaged in a heated argument that quickly escalated into a violent brawl. Shocking visuals from the incident have circulated on social media, showcasing the chaos that unfolded as individuals under the influence of alcohol resorted to pushing, kicking, shoving, and hurling abuse at each other. To make matters worse, alcohol bottles were thrown during the fracas. The reason behind the dispute remains unknown, leaving many questions unanswered.
Despite efforts by the bar’s staff and other patrons to intervene and restore order, neither group was willing to back down. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, aiming to determine the causes and hold those responsible accountable.
Not the only time
Unfortunately, this incident is not an isolated one. The Gardens Galleria Mall has become synonymous with drunken clashes in recent memory. In December 2022, another brawl erupted at the ‘Sutra’ restro-bar after two inebriated individuals engaged in a dispute. Prior to that, a tragic incident occurred where a 30-year-old man lost his life during a brawl with mall employees over a bill payment dispute.
In this earlier case, the brawl took place at the ‘Lost Lemons’ resto-bar within the mall. The victim, identified as Brajesh, had been at the establishment with his colleagues for a party. An argument over the bill payment escalated into a violent altercation, resulting in Brajesh sustaining serious injuries. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital. In the aftermath of this incident in April 2022, the resto-bar was sealed, and 16 of its employees were detained.
The recurrent episodes of violence at the Gardens Galleria Mall raise serious concerns about the security and management of nightlife establishments within the complex. It is imperative that mall authorities and law enforcement take decisive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of patrons and visitors.
