Children and Woman Perish in Hut Fire

Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh – In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded late on Wednesday night, a woman and her five children were charred to death when their humble abode caught fire in the Urdaha village, located under the jurisdiction of Ramkola police station. The devastating fire quickly engulfed their dwelling, leading to the untimely demise of the entire family. Authorities suspect that the fire originated from an improperly extinguished ‘chulha’ (stove), and may have come into contact with an inflammable substance, resulting in the rapid spread of the flames while the occupants were fast asleep.

The victims of this horrific incident have been identified as Sangeeta, aged 38, and her children Ankit (10), Laxmina (9), Rita (3), Geeta (2), and Babu (1). The news of their tragic fate has sent shockwaves through the community, leaving residents grief-stricken and in mourning.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, local residents immediately alerted the police upon witnessing the billowing flames and thick smoke emanating from the family’s dwelling. Law enforcement authorities swiftly sprung into action, along with the assistance of the fire brigade, rushing to the scene to confront the raging inferno. Despite their valiant efforts, the fire claimed the lives of the trapped family members, reducing their hopes for survival to mere ashes.

Superintendent of Police, Dhawal Jaiswal, expressed deep condolences for the victims and their grieving relatives, while also acknowledging that the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. To ensure a thorough investigation into the incident, District Magistrate Ramesh Ranjan arrived at the scene and promptly ordered a comprehensive inquiry to shed light on the circumstances leading to this devastating loss of life.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, upon learning of the tragedy, expressed his profound sorrow and announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the bereaved family. The financial aid aims to provide some solace and support during these incredibly trying times, as the surviving relatives attempt to come to terms with the unimaginable loss they have suffered.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to fire safety precautions, particularly in households where open flames are regularly used for cooking and heating purposes. Authorities are urging citizens to exercise caution and ensure that fires are properly extinguished before retiring for the night. Vigilance and responsible practices can go a long way in preventing such devastating accidents that claim innocent lives.

As the tight-knit community of Urdaha village mourns the loss of Sangeeta and her five children, their tragic deaths will forever remain etched in the collective memory of the region. This unfortunate incident serves as a somber reminder of the need for enhanced awareness and safety measures to protect families from the ravages of fire-related disasters.
