Snapchat, the popular visual messaging app, has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing the 200 million monthly active users mark in India. The parent company, Snap Inc., announced this significant achievement and also revealed that out of these users, a staggering 120 million actively engage with content on the platform. To celebrate this milestone, Snap Inc. has introduced a new AI-powered chatbot called My AI, which aims to provide personalized recommendations for various activities, such as birthday gift ideas, weekend trip planning, and even dinner recipe suggestions.

In a statement, Snap Inc. proudly declared, “Snapchat reaches over 200 million monthly active users in India.” This highlights the app’s growing popularity and influence in the Indian market. Globally, Snapchat boasts an impressive user base of over 750 million monthly active users, with a striking 90% of them falling within the age bracket of 18-24 years.

Ajit Mohan, President of Snap, APAC, expressed his excitement about the company’s growth in India, stating, “I am thrilled to have joined Snap at a time where the momentum among our Indian community has never been stronger. We see incredible potential for partners, creators, and brands to build communities and businesses on Snapchat, and we couldn’t be more excited about our future.”

Snap Inc. also shared some interesting statistics about Indian Snapchatters’ engagement with the platform. Over 120 million users in India actively watch content across various Snapchat features, including stories, spotlight (user-generated content), and partnered content. Additionally, the company’s internal data reveals that Snapchatters in India interact with Augmented Reality (AR) Lenses an astonishing 50 billion times every month. Moreover, during festive months in India, more than 85% of Snapchatters use Lenses to visually express themselves, showcasing the app’s impact on cultural celebrations.

To further strengthen its presence in the Indian market, Snap Inc. has initiated partnerships with local merchants to establish an e-commerce ecosystem within the Snapchat platform. By integrating augmented reality technology, Snap aims to provide a unique and immersive shopping experience to its users.

Recognizing the growing importance of the Indian market, Snap Inc. is expanding its team and hiring professionals across various roles to better serve the Indian Snapchatter community. The company envisions Snapchat as a platform where partners, creators, and brands can thrive and build meaningful connections with their audiences.

In conclusion, Snapchat’s achievement of surpassing 200 million monthly active users in India showcases its growing popularity in the country. The introduction of the AI-powered chatbot, My AI, further enhances the app’s offerings and aims to provide personalized recommendations to users. With its expanding user base and innovative features, Snapchat is poised for an exciting future in India.
