It is crucial not to consume pain medicines such as diclofenac, ibuprofen, and aspirin without a prescription, especially during the dengue season. Dengue is a viral infection that can lead to internal bleeding in certain cases. Pain medicines are known to prevent blood clotting, which can exacerbate the symptoms and increase the risk of internal bleeding in individuals with dengue.

During monsoon season, areas with stagnant water become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, increasing the likelihood of dengue transmission. As the rainy season progresses, the number of dengue cases may rise, and it becomes essential to be cautious with painkiller usage.

The symptoms of dengue, including high-grade fever, body ache, and headache, may prompt some individuals to self-medicate with painkillers like ibuprofen and diclofenac. However, it is crucial to avoid these medications when dengue is suspected, as they can interfere with blood clotting and worsen the condition.

If you experience fever and aches during dengue season, it is advisable to take paracetamol as it is a safer option. However, it is important not to exceed the recommended dosage, and it’s best to consult a healthcare professional to ensure proper treatment.

Most dengue cases do not require hospitalization, as it is a self-limiting disease that can be managed at home with proper hydration. Antibiotics are not effective against dengue, as it is a viral illness. If the fever persists for more than three days or if you experience severe symptoms like constant vomiting, bleeding, breathing difficulty, or a drop in blood pressure, it is essential to seek medical attention promptly.

The number of severe dengue cases may vary each year depending on the circulating serotype of the virus. It is essential for healthcare facilities to monitor and manage dengue cases during the season to prevent complications and outbreaks.

In conclusion, it is crucial to avoid self-medication with painkillers during the dengue season. If you suspect you have dengue or experience high fever and body ache, consult a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
