Rumors had swirled that the meeting was aimed at convincing Sharad Pawar. As a prominent figure in the opposition’s INDIA bloc, to switch allegiances and join forces with the BJP. However, Sharad Pawar swiftly dismissed these claims, clarifying that he had not been offered a Union Minister post in exchange for deserting the INDIA bloc.

Addressing the speculation, Sharad Pawar revealed that certain “well-wishers” had approached him with proposals to collaborate with the BJP, but he firmly stated that he had no intentions of such a move. He emphasised that the meeting was within the realm of familial interactions, pointing out that Ajit Pawar is his nephew.

The meeting’s aftermath has stirred discomfort within the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance. This assertion had followed instances where BJP-led governments have faced challenges and had to be replaced by opposition alliances.

He criticised the PM for dedicating minimal attention to the region’s concerns, highlighting that the PM had spent only a few minutes discussing Manipur during important speeches
