Simratt Kaur Randhawa brushes off negativity as she gears up for her lead role in the iconic franchise ‘Gadar 2’.
Mumbai, India – Simratt Kaur Randhawa, the talented actress making her Hindi film debut in the much-awaited ‘Gadar 2’, is undeterred by the recent trolls and controversies surrounding her career. With the film set to release on August 11, Simratt opens up about her journey, the backlash, and her excitement for her pivotal role in the sequel.
In an exclusive interview with Outlook, Simratt expressed her elation at being cast in ‘Gadar 2’ and shared her emotions as an outsider in the film industry. “You dream of something and your dream comes true, you feel really happy and excited. The other thing is you have never dreamt of something and then suddenly it happens. So, this has never happened to me, and I have never dreamt of doing a movie like ‘Gadar 2’ and that too lead in it. So, I am excited and very emotional right now. I am also nervous because I am an outsider, and I don’t know how people will take me. There are mixed emotions right now,” she said.
The trailer of ‘Gadar 2’ had fans buzzing with excitement, but some netizens took to social media to criticize Simratt for her previous bold scenes in a South film, ‘Dirty Hari’. Addressing the trolls, Simratt remains unfazed and firmly focuses on her upcoming release. “I don’t think it’s a bigger controversy and news than me doing ‘Gadar 2’. I think me doing the movie is way bigger news than all this, and I think when you grow and when you are in the industry, it will keep happening. It’s a lifelong process. Maybe in the next movie, someone else will come and do it. So, I think it’s just part of life, but my main focus is that I am doing ‘Gadar 2’, and I am sure when the movie is out, people will have a better view of me, and they will see me in the new look,” she asserted.
Simratt further shared her journey of perseverance and resilience in the competitive world of showbiz. “For me, the struggles have been for more than six-seven years. Being an outsider, I never had any kind of contact. I have struggled every day, I have given multiple auditions. This process has really made me strong mentally and physically. All I believe is if my hard work is worth I will get what I want. I don’t care about the negativity around me because I am full of positivity,” she added confidently.
The actress also shed some light on her character in ‘Gadar 2’. Although her role remains a well-guarded secret, Simratt shared, “People have already started assuming about my character just with that one glimpse of me in the trailer. All I want to say is that my character’s name is Muskaan, and she’s a really important character in the movie. It will be worth waiting for it.”
Simratt’s co-stars, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, are also returning to reprise their iconic roles in ‘Gadar 2’. With a talented ensemble, captivating storyline, and Simratt’s promising debut, the film is highly anticipated by fans across the country.
