In a recent address at a foundation stone-laying ceremony in Hanumangarh district, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari expressed his vision of transforming Rajasthan’s roads into a prosperous network resembling those in the United States by the end of 2024. Drawing inspiration from former US President John F. Kennedy, Gadkari highlighted the crucial role of infrastructure in fostering economic growth and prosperity.

Gadkari emphasized that the wealth of a nation is not solely determined by its riches but is also influenced by the quality of its roads. He quoted Kennedy, saying, “America’s roads are good not because America is rich. America is rich because of its good roads.” With this in mind, Gadkari pledged to ensure that Rajasthan’s road infrastructure would be elevated to international standards, leading to a more prosperous and contented state.

Addressing the gathering, Gadkari underscored the commitment of the central government to bring happiness and prosperity to the villages across the country. He stated that it was their collective aim to eradicate poverty, hunger, and unemployment while ensuring a consistent water supply for farmers, employment opportunities for youth, and a boost in exports. Gadkari also emphasized the potential for farmers to become millionaires by transforming themselves into both food and energy providers.

During the event, Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for six national highway projects and seven railway overbridges (ROBs) under the Setu Bandhan project, with a total estimated cost of Rs 2,050 crore. These initiatives signify the government’s unwavering commitment to improving infrastructure and connectivity throughout the state.

Accompanied by Members of Parliament Nihal Chand, Rahul Kaswan, and Narendra Kumar, Gadkari highlighted the need for societal change and progress, particularly when governments transition. He stressed the importance of enabling prosperity and well-being, ensuring adequate water supply for agricultural activities, boosting employment opportunities, reducing imports, and promoting exports to strengthen the nation’s economy.

The transformative road development projects undertaken by the central government in collaboration with the Rajasthan state government will not only enhance connectivity but also catalyze economic growth, trade, and tourism. The planned improvements to the road network aim to create a favorable environment for businesses to flourish, attract investments, and generate employment opportunities for the local population.

As Nitin Gadkari envisions a future where Rajasthan’s roads rival those of the United States, the government’s commitment to infrastructure development remains steadfast. With the assurance of enhanced road connectivity, Rajasthan is poised to embark on a journey towards economic prosperity and improved quality of life for its citizens.
