A 23-year-old man was tragically stabbed to death in a shocking incident that took place in the Neb Sarai area of South Delhi. The victim, identified as Sachin, was allegedly attacked by two individuals using a sharp-edged weapon, believed to be a ‘sua’ (a large needle used to break ice slabs). The incident occurred near Sachin’s residence.
Upon receiving a distress call from Sachin’s father around noon, the police promptly arrived at the scene and rushed Sachin to the AIIMS Trauma Centre. It was discovered that he had sustained two severe injuries—one near his heart and another on his lung. Despite undergoing immediate medical attention, Sachin tragically succumbed to his injuries during the operation.
A video of the incident, which circulated on social media, depicted the horrifying assault on Sachin. The footage revealed two individuals relentlessly attacking him on a street. Sachin desperately tried to defend himself after escaping from their clutches, but the assailants managed to flee the scene.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the attackers were known to Sachin. The police have registered a case against the duo and are actively working to apprehend them. It has also been revealed that Sachin had a prior criminal case in 2022 and had been released from jail the same year. The motive behind the attack is suspected to stem from a previous altercation between Sachin and the accused, leading them to plan his elimination. However, a more conclusive reason will be determined once the culprits are apprehended.
Sachin’s father, Ved Nath, alerted the police about the incident and provided them with necessary details. He mentioned that he was not present at the scene but was informed by witnesses that two assailants had stabbed his son. Nath expressed his grief and shock over the tragic incident. He revealed that Sachin was pursuing a computer course.
Sachin’s elder brother, Sanju Kumar, who works as a plumber, stated that Sachin had gone out to buy groceries when the brutal attack occurred. After reviewing CCTV footage, the family discovered that the accused individuals initially engaged Sachin in a conversation before launching the assault. Although the family is unfamiliar with the attackers, Sachin was acquainted with them. Kumar further shared that Sachin had recently started working with their uncle and had been studying. The family originally hails from Bihar and has been residing in Delhi for the past 20 years.
This heinous crime has left the community in shock and mourning. The police are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated. The loss of a young life in such a brutal manner highlights the need for increased safety measures and vigilance in the area.
