In a bid to ease the long-standing tensions along the contested Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, the Indian Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) engaged in their 19th round of military talks on Monday. It was scheduled for August 22-24 in Johannesburg, South Africa. Speculation has arisen regarding a possible meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the summit. Additionally, expected President Xi’s attendance to the G20 summit in New Delhi in September , although official confirmation is still pending.
