In a shocking and tragic incident, a 27-year-old woman from Hyderabad, identified as Kontham Tejaswini, was fatally stabbed by her Brazilian flatmate in a residential property located in Wembley, London. Tejaswini, who had traveled to London to pursue higher studies, was attacked around 10 am on Tuesday, resulting in her immediate death at the scene. The Metropolitan Police swiftly responded to the incident and apprehended the main accused along with another individual.

Reports suggest that the primary suspect, believed to be a drug addict, had recently moved into the shared accommodation where Tejaswini resided with her friends. The motive behind the attack seems to be an attempted extortion of money from Tejaswini, who refused to comply with the suspect’s demands. This refusal allegedly led to a violent confrontation, culminating in the fatal stabbing.

A second woman, aged 28, was also injured during the incident and was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, her injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening. The attack unfolded at Neeld Crescent in Wembley, sending shockwaves through the local community and sparking concerns about safety.

Authorities in Hyderabad expressed their condolences and shared details about Tejaswini’s background. Having completed her Master of Science degree recently, she had returned to India for a brief visit approximately a month ago. Tejaswini’s family resides in Champapet, Hyderabad, where her father is engaged in electrical work and owns agricultural land. She had been actively seeking job opportunities while residing in London.

The Metropolitan Police promptly issued a statement confirming the arrest of two individuals, a 24-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman, on suspicion of murder. The male suspect remains in custody, while the female suspect has been released without further action. Subsequently, another male suspect, aged 23, was also apprehended in connection with the incident. Previously, the police had circulated an image of the Brazilian national, Keven Antonio Lourenco De Morais, seeking assistance from the public to locate him. The suspect was eventually arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody at a police station in north London.

Detective Chief Inspector Linda Bradley, an officer from the Metropolitan Police, expressed gratitude to the public for their support in sharing information about the suspect. She assured the community that a dedicated team of detectives is diligently working to establish the sequence of events surrounding the tragic incident.

The shocking loss of Kontham Tejaswini has created a sense of concern and unease within the community. Residents are now anxiously awaiting the outcome of the ongoing investigation, hoping for justice to be served swiftly.

As authorities delve deeper into the case, it is anticipated that more details will emerge regarding the circumstances leading up to the fatal stabbing of Tejaswini. Until then, the community mourns the loss of a young woman with a promising future, while her family and friends grapple with the profound grief caused by this senseless act of violence.
