Sanjiv Maheshwari, who operated a criminal gang in western Uttar Pradesh, was captured in a video footage appearing lifeless on the ground while officials desperately tried to staunch his bleeding from the gunshot wounds. It remains unclear whether there were multiple assailants involved in the attack. However, it has been reported that lawyers present at the court managed to apprehend one of the attackers and promptly handed him over to the police.
The gangster, dressed in a green shirt and blue denims, had been brought to a local court in the Kaiserbagh area of Lucknow when the shooting occurred. Sanjiv Jeeva had a long history of criminal activities, with numerous cases pending against him. He operated multiple criminal syndicates in the state and had spent several years in jail. Reports suggest that he faced approximately 50 criminal cases in both Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
