Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, known for his involvement in various criminal activities, has been transferred to Delhi’s Mandoli Prison from a jail in Gujarat. The move was made in the early hours of Thursday and was primarily motivated by security concerns, according to officials.

Bishnoi’s transfer to Delhi also coincides with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) obtaining his custody for his suspected involvement in a case related to cross-border drug smuggling. The ATS intends to interrogate Bishnoi regarding possible connections to the seizure of 40 kg of heroin, valued at over Rs 200 crore, from a Pakistani fishing boat off the Gujarat coast in September of the previous year.
