The bustling streets of the Indian capital, New Delhi, experienced significant disruptions today as Delhi Police conducted a full dress rehearsal for the upcoming G20 Summit. With the world’s attention turning toward India for this prestigious international event, security measures were put in place that led to road closures and traffic diversions throughout the day.

The rehearsal, held in preparation for the G20 Summit, involved the meticulous escorting of motorcades from various parts of the city toward the New Delhi district. The timings for the full dress rehearsal were divided into three slots: from 8:30 am to 12 noon, 4:30 pm to 6 pm, and 7 pm to 11 pm. Commuters were advised to make use of the city’s efficient metro services during these hours, given the expected traffic congestion.

As the motorcade rehearsals unfolded, several key areas witnessed traffic restrictions. These included:

3. Gol Methi Roundabout

4. Mansingh Road Roundabout

5. C-Hexagon

6. Mathura Road

7. Zakir Hussain Marg-Subramaniam Bharti Marg

8. Bhairon Marg-Ring Road

9. Satya Marg/Shantipath Roundabout

10. Janpath–Kartavyapath

11. Barakhamba Road Traffic Signal

12. Tolstoy Marg

13. Vivekanand Marg

Commuters were warned in advance about the disruptions and advised to plan their journeys accordingly. It was strongly recommended to avoid these roads and junctions during the specified time slots to minimize inconvenience.

The G20 Summit, a gathering of leaders from the world’s major economies, is a crucial event for discussions on global economic policies and international cooperation. As India plays host to this significant summit, stringent security measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of dignitaries and attendees.
