Fiji’s Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka, presented PM Modi with the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the country’s most prestigious civilian award. This distinction, a rare honor for a non-Fijian, signifies Prime Minister Modi’s outstanding achievements and meritorious service to Fiji and humanity. Expressing his gratitude, PM Modi acknowledged that the award not only recognizes his efforts but also reflects the longstanding relationship between India and Fiji, which spans centuries.
During his visit to Papua New Guinea, Prime Minister Modi was accorded the Companion of the Order of Logohu, the highest honor in the country. This award was granted to PM Modi in appreciation of his instrumental role in fostering unity among Pacific Island countries and spearheading the cause of the Global South. It is noteworthy that very few non-residents have received this esteemed accolade.
In addition to these honors, PM Modi was also presented with an Ebakl by the President of Palau, Surangel Whipps, Jr. The Ebakl holds immense cultural significance for the people of Palau and symbolizes leadership and wisdom.
