Delhi murder case CM calls for action

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves across the nation, a 16-year-old girl was brutally stabbed to death allegedly by her boyfriend in Shahbad Dairy, a locality in northwest Delhi. The gruesome act was captured on a video that has since been widely circulated on social media, drawing widespread condemnation and raising serious concerns about the safety of women in the city.

Reacting to the heinous crime, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter, urging Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena to take swift and strict action to bring the perpetrators to justice. Kejriwal emphasized that it was the responsibility of the Lieutenant Governor to maintain law and order in the capital city, and the incident highlighted the urgent need for action.

“A minor girl was brutally murdered in Delhi. This is very sad and unfortunate. The criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police. LG sir, law and order is your responsibility, do something,” tweeted Kejriwal.

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Atishi also criticized the Lieutenant Governor, reminding him of his constitutional duty to protect the people of Delhi. She called on him to prioritize the safety of women in the city and expressed concern that the current situation was endangering their lives.

The victim, a resident of JJ Colony in Shahbad Dairy, was stabbed multiple times by her boyfriend after an alleged quarrel between the two. In a shocking act of violence, the accused then bludgeoned her with a stone. The incident occurred on a street where the victim was intercepted by her boyfriend, resulting in the brutal attack.

The tragic murder has sparked outrage not only among political leaders but also among citizens who are demanding swift action and justice for the victim. BJP leader Kapil Mishra expressed his grief and highlighted the need for justice in this case, stating, “This painful murder has happened in Delhi. Shraddha has not got justice yet. Do not know how many more Shraddhas will become victims of this brutality.”

Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal condemned the incident and criticized the Delhi Police, asserting that the lack of fear among criminals in the national capital was deeply concerning. She demanded immediate action in the case to prevent further acts of cruelty.

The accused has been arrested from Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh, thanks to the efforts of the police. The post-mortem examination will shed light on the exact number of stab wounds inflicted on the victim.

As the nation mourns the loss of yet another innocent life, the focus has shifted to the urgent need for measures to ensure the safety and security of women in Delhi. The incident has reignited the debate on improving law enforcement and enhancing the overall safety infrastructure in the city.

Authorities must heed the calls for action, and steps must be taken to address the concerns raised by political leaders, citizens, and activists alike. Only through a concerted effort to prioritize women’s safety and strengthen law and order can such heinous crimes be prevented, and justice be served to the victims and their families.
