The ongoing saga involving Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken a dramatic turn, as the agency scrutinizes Kejriwal’s response to the third summons in the alleged excise policy case. With the possibility of a fourth summons looming, the situation has escalated, prompting heightened security measures and speculation about a potential arrest.

The ED had initially summoned Chief Minister Kejriwal on November 2, 2023, in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor scam case. Kejriwal, however, opted not to appear, challenging the notice’s validity and alleging political motivations. The agency subsequently issued a third summons on December 22, 2023, instructing him to appear on January 3, 2024.

In a defiant move, Arvind Kejriwal chose to skip the third summons, reiterating his stance that the notices were vague, motivated, and legally unsustainable. He went on to accuse the ED of pursuing a politically motivated agenda, suggesting that the summons had been issued for extraneous considerations.

Amidst the escalating tension, security outside Kejriwal’s residence has been tightened. The move follows claims by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, citing unnamed sources, that the ED might arrest the AAP convener. These developments underscore the heightened stakes surrounding the investigation and the potential ramifications for the Delhi Chief Minister.

About Arvind Kejriwal:

Sources indicate that the Enforcement Directorate is currently examining Kejriwal’s reply to the third summons. Considering his refusal to cooperate, the ED is contemplating issuing a fourth summons, indicating the agency’s determination to pursue the investigation into the alleged excise policy case.

The unfolding events carry significant political implications, with Kejriwal and the AAP maintaining that the ED’s actions are politically motivated. The ongoing clash between the Delhi Chief Minister and the central agency raises questions about the intersection of law, politics, and the nature of the allegations against Kejriwal.

As the Enforcement Directorate mulls over its next move and the possibility of issuing a fourth summons, the situation surrounding Arvind Kejriwal’s alleged involvement in the excise policy case remains fluid. The heightened security and political tensions add a layer of complexity to an already contentious investigation, leaving observers and citizens alike on the edge of anticipation regarding the potential outcomes of this unfolding legal and political drama.
