With time, orthodontic braces in India have advanced significantly says Dr. Shobit Sethi who is MDS in Orthodontics (Braces Specialist) and is a member of Dubai Health Care City. He is a Certified Invisalign specialist and is a renowned Smile Designer in Chandigarh Tricity.

Dr Shobit Sethi has also excelled in LASER dentistry and was the first Orthodontist to bring an iTERO 5D scanner to Chandigarh Tricity at his multispecialty dental clinic named The Smile Designers. He confirms that the orthodontic industry in India has undergone a remarkable transformation, moving from the ancient days when teeth were straightened with metal bands and wires to the modern era when cutting-edge technology has made Clear Aligners possible. He also claims that not only is orthodontic treatment now more affordable for a larger number of people, but it is also now more effective, precise, and pleasing to the eye.

Talking about the great evolution of braces, Dr. Shobit Sethi mentions how in the past, for Metal Braces, the orthodontist would make regular adjustments to the position of the teeth using metal brackets and wires that were attached to the teeth. These supports were massive, awkward, and required broad consideration and upkeep.

Dr. Shobit Sethi shared that nowadays orthodontic treatment is more effective, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing as a result of technological advancements. The orthodontic field has been transformed by the introduction of ceramic and lingual braces, which offer patients a more discrete method of tooth straightening.

Ceramic Braces used brackets made of tooth-coloured or clear materials that blend in with the teeth and make them less noticeable. On the other hand, Lingual Braces are applied to the back of the teeth, rendering them virtually undetectable from the front. And they were followed by Self-ligating Braces that use a specialized clip instead of elastic bands to hold the archwire in place.

However, in recent years, clear aligners have gained popularity as an alternative to all the above claims Dr. Shobit Sethi. Clear aligners are made of a clear plastic material that is custom-fitted to the patient’s teeth, making them virtually invisible. They are also removable, making them more convenient and comfortable than traditional braces.

Dr. Shobit Sethi mentioned the top reasons which have made Clear Aligners an excellent choice for patients. Firstly, they are almost unnoticeable because Clear Aligners are made of clear plastic and don’t show much when worn, they’re a popular choice for adults and teens who worry about how traditional metal braces look.

Secondly, Dr Shobit Sethi shares that they can be taken out: Clear aligners are more convenient because they can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. During treatment, this can also assist in maintaining good oral hygiene.

Thirdly, they are at ease because Clear aligners are made of smooth plastic and can be more comfortable than conventional braces with wires and brackets that can cause irritation or discomfort as told by Dr. Shobit Sethi.

Last but not least, Braces Specialist Dr. Shobit Sethi shared that they require fewer visits to the doctor because patients receive multiple sets of clear aligners at once and only need to visit the orthodontist for checkups every few months. Clear Aligners typically necessitate fewer office visits than traditional braces.

Though, Dr. Shobit Sethi says that it’s important to remember that Clear Aligners require an elevated degree of patient consistency, as they should be worn for no less than 22 hours per day to be successful. In addition, they might not be appropriate for patients who have severe orthodontic issues or who require intricate tooth movements. If you want to know which treatment option is best for your needs, it’s always best to talk to an orthodontist.

All in all, the advancement of orthodontic braces in India has been amazing. From Metal Braces to Clear Aligners, the orthodontic business has seen dramatic change. With cutting-edge innovation and materials, patients currently approach an extensive variety of orthodontic treatment choices that are effective, agreeable and stylishly satisfying. Consult a professional right away if you’re thinking about orthodontic treatment and get the smile of your dreams!
