Hindi is the soul of India, according to Yogesh Singh, vice chancellor of Delhi University, and its use is growing. In a session commemorating World Hindi Day, the vice chancellor of Delhi University stated that PM Narendra Modi addresses in Hindi when he travels abroad, increasing the significance of the language. Hindi is the language of love and the human touch; it is the language of our hearts, according to Singh. Hindi is a widely used, basic, and easy language. Just leave it alone. India’s spirit is in Hindi.
“This will inevitably raise Hindi’s stature”
According to the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi, films from South Indian languages are currently being translated into Hindi, and 30% of the content on OTT platforms like Netflix is in Hindi. He said, “When the Prime Minister of India addresses outsiders in Hindi, the worth and relevance of Hindi increase.” India will become a developed country by 2047. As a result, Hindi’s renown will grow naturally. A lecture in commemoration of World Hindi Day was organized by the Indian Language Committee under the guidance of the Delhi University Centenary Celebrations Committee.

That day in 1975 marked the start of the inaugural conference. The 10th of January has been set aside as National Hindi Day. The 10th of January is designated as World Hindi Day each year. The first World Hindi Conference took place in Nagpur on January 10th, 1975. Then-prime minister Indira Gandhi gave it a formal opening. On September 14th each year, Hindi Diwas is also observed.
Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, member secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) said in today’s era, there is a need to make content and curriculum in colloquial language. Joshi underlined the importance of expanding the vocabulary of Hindi, saying that “we must incorporate technical phrases from other languages in Hindi’s vocabulary.”
