With unprecedented heavy rains causing havoc and rivers overflowing across Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is leaving no stone unturned in monitoring the situation round the clock and guiding relief and rescue efforts on the ground. As the state battles severe floods, KCR has emphasised the utmost importance of public safety and ensuring immediate relief measures to minimise loss of life and property.
Chief Minister KCR has taken charge, directing Ministers, public representatives, and officials to work in coordination with various departments to ensure the safe evacuation of citizens from flood-affected and low-lying areas to secure locations. The ongoing relief efforts have seen the deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, and rescue helicopters, and the distribution of essential supplies, including food and medicine, to the affected regions.
The Disaster Management, Fire Services, and Police departments are working in tandem, pooling their resources and expertise to provide much-needed relief to the affected areas. A State-level flood monitoring center has been established under the supervision of the Director-General of Police (DGP), ensuring the active participation of the police force in rescue and relief operations.
The incessant rains have caused the Godavari River, its tributaries, rivulets, and streams to swell beyond the danger mark, posing severe threats to the surrounding regions. Chief Engineers have been directed to take necessary steps to control the flood inflow and release water in a timely manner from the overflowing rivers and projects, including Godavari and its tributaries.
At the forefront of managing the flood situation is Chief Minister KCR himself, personally overseeing the actions taken by officials at the field level. The situation in the Krishna River basin is also under constant monitoring to mitigate any potential disasters.
The efforts made by the police in moving people from low-lying areas to safer zones have started to show positive results. The establishment of the State-level flood monitoring centre under the supervision of the DGP has further strengthened the rescue and relief operations carried out by the police department.
In the face of this natural calamity, various Ministers, including KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Satyavathi Rathod, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, and others, have been actively participating in rescue and relief operations in their respective districts. They have been working tirelessly, reviewing local conditions, and coordinating efforts to ensure the safe evacuation of people, providing essential medical facilities, food, and clothing to those in need.
Chief Minister KCR’s unwavering dedication to public safety and his hands-on approach in managing the flood situation has garnered appreciation from all quarters. He continues to motivate his team to work relentlessly, focusing on protecting the people in low-lying and flood-prone areas and providing immediate relief to those affected.
The people of Telangana stand united, facing this crisis with courage and resilience. As the relief and rescue operations continue, the collective efforts of the government, officials, public representatives, and citizens aim to alleviate the hardships caused by the devastating floods and bring back normalcy to the state as soon as possible.
