Mumbai police investigating the chilling murder of 32-year-old Saraswati Vaidya in her Mira Road residence were met with a horrifying sight as they stumbled upon boiled human flesh and bones in the suspect’s kitchen. The authorities promptly registered a suo motu FIR against Saraswati’s live-in partner, Manoj Ramesh Sane, who stands accused in the June 4th slaying.

Upon entering the 2 BHK flat located in the J-wing of the Geeta Aakashdeep Cooperative Housing Society building, law enforcement officers, accompanied by three witnesses, were immediately struck by a pungent odor emanating from within. Breaking open the door, they discovered black plastic bags containing body parts in one of the bedrooms, according to the First Information Report (FIR). However, a stronger stench drew their attention to the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen, the police were confronted with a grim scene. Among the findings was a woman’s ponytail adorned with flowers, serving as a haunting reminder of the victim’s identity. Additionally, a pressure cooker and a vessel were discovered, both containing boiled human flesh. Shockingly, half-roasted flesh and bones were also found in the washbasin, two buckets, and a tub, as detailed in the FIR. Furthermore, authorities spotted an electric cutter stained with blood, though minimal blood was observed on the walls or kitchen platform.

Sub-Inspector Rahul Balasaheb Bhagtav, the complainant in the case and an integral part of the police investigation, provided a detailed account of the crime scene in his statement. A forensic team was promptly dispatched to the flat to collect evidence, aiming to shed light on the ghastly incident.

In their pursuit of justice, the police are currently reviewing the CCTV footage from the society’s installed cameras. Their objective is to ascertain the frequency of Manoj Sane’s movements outside the flat between June 4th and 7th, indicating any suspicious behavior or potential involvement in other criminal activities.

The revelation of such a macabre crime has sent shockwaves through the Mira Road community. Residents are struggling to come to terms with the gruesome details, which have surpassed the boundaries of comprehension. The authorities have assured the public that they are fully committed to uncovering the truth behind this heinous act and holding the responsible parties accountable.

As the investigation continues to unfold, the focus will be on collecting substantial evidence, including any potential motives that may shed light on the motive for such a horrifying crime. The residents of Mira Road are anxiously awaiting justice for Saraswati Vaidya, while the police work diligently to piece together the events leading up to her tragic demise.

This shocking incident serves as a stark reminder of the dark and unpredictable side of human nature, leaving a lingering sense of unease within the community and prompting a broader conversation about the importance of safety, awareness, and vigilance within our neighbourhoods.
