Cousins arrested for gruesome killings and looting valuables under the guise of becoming rich

In a shocking turn of events, two cousins hailing from Bihar have been arrested by Delhi police for the brutal murder of a 64-year-old woman, Rajrani, and her daughter, Ginni Kirar, in the Krishna Nagar area of east Delhi. The accused, identified as Kishan (28) and Ankit Kumar Singh (25), were driven by their desire to amass wealth and carried out the murders under a chilling codename, “Mission Malamal.”

The bodies of Rajrani and Ginni Kirar were discovered in a highly decomposed and maggot-infested state in their Krishna Nagar residence on May 31, following a PCR call reporting a foul smell emanating from the premises. Subsequent investigations by the police unveiled a chilling narrative of deceit, manipulation, and greed.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Rohit Meena, Kishan, who worked as a marketing manager, registered himself as an online tutor and came into contact with Rajrani. He gained their trust by providing computer tuition to Ginni Kirar, who had special needs. As the relationship deepened, Kishan learned that the victims possessed over ₹50 lakh in their bank account.

Driven by his sinister plan to acquire their wealth, Kishan enlisted the help of his cousin, Ankit Kumar Singh, who had arrived in Delhi from Assam. The duo conspired to execute “Mission Malamal” and meticulously planned the murder and robbery. Singh, a singer and music band member, had recently composed music for an upcoming film on an over-the-top (OTT) platform.

On the day of the incident, Singh conducted a thorough reconnaissance of the area and procured knives from Laxmi Nagar. Meanwhile, Kishan introduced Singh to Rajrani as another tutor for Ginni. The message, “Mission Malamal is on,” was sent by Kishan to Singh as a signal to proceed with their heinous plan.

Around 9:50 pm, the accused gained friendly entry into the victims’ house, which was equipped with a video screening system that allowed access only with the victims’ permission. Seizing an opportune moment, while Ginni went to fetch water, they attacked Rajrani and Ginni, slashing their throats with knives. The assailants meticulously cleaned the bloodstains and ransacked the house, making off with valuable items.

Police investigations revealed that the accused attempted to transfer money from the victims’ bank accounts but were unsuccessful due to the absence of net banking and ATM facilities. The murderers, undeterred, escaped with the stolen valuables, including an idol they believed to be made of gold.

Following the crime, Kishan and Singh resumed their normal lives, with Kishan even planning a trip with his office colleagues. Singh, who had previously provided singing coaching in the New Ashok Nagar area, carried on with his musical pursuits. However, their normalcy was short-lived, as law enforcement agencies relentlessly pursued them.

Ultimately, the accused’s movements were traced to different locations, leading to their arrest. Kishan was apprehended in Delhi’s Kanti Nagar area as he was preparing to surrender before the court, while Singh was arrested near BD Estate, Timarpur.

During the investigation, the police recovered incriminating evidence, including two bags used in the crime, laptops, smartphones, chargers, and blood-stained clothes worn by the perpetrators. The recovered items are crucial in
