A shocking incident captured on CCTV footage in north Delhi’s Rohini shows a 16-year-old girl being brutally stabbed 22 times and struck with a stone slab by a man, while bystanders pass by without intervening. The frenzied attack continues even after the girl goes still, highlighting the lack of assistance from onlookers.

The alleged perpetrator, Sahil, a 20-year-old AC technician and the girl’s boyfriend, was arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. The incident took place on a crowded street in the Shahbad Dairy area, where Sahil followed the girl and attacked her with a knife, repeatedly stabbing her. The graphic footage reveals the assailant having to shake the knife loose at one point before resorting to using a stone slab to inflict further harm.

The victim, on her way to a friend’s son’s birthday party, succumbed to her injuries. The police were alerted by residents and discovered the girl’s lifeless body amidst a pool of blood at the scene.

The girl’s mother expressed her desire for Sahil to receive the death penalty, while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the murder, emphasizing the need for improved law and order.

Delhi women’s panel head, Swati Maliwal, issued a notice to the police, highlighting the captured CCTV evidence and stating that Delhi has become increasingly unsafe for women and girls.

A group of wrestlers and their supporters were arrested outside the Indian Parliament during their protest against the president of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) over sexual harassment allegations. The protests turned chaotic, leading to scuffles and subsequent arrests.

Although some protesters were released, police filed formal complaints against others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rioting and obstruction of public servants’ duties through assault and criminal force.

The wrestlers have been protesting for over a month, demanding the immediate arrest of Brijbhushan Sharan Singh, a member of parliament affiliated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party, and expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of action taken against him. Singh, who denies the allegations, has been accused of sexually harassing multiple female athletes during his tenure as the WFI’s chief.

The athletes have called for Singh’s arrest and sought the intervention of the Supreme Court, which directed the police to register a case against the 66-year-old politician.
