Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid a visit to the Lok Nayak Hospital on Sunday to meet Satyendar Jain, the ailing leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Jain, who had collapsed in a washroom at Tihar Jail on May 25, has been undergoing medical treatment at the hospital. This meeting between Kejriwal and Jain marks their first encounter since Jain’s arrest in a money laundering case nearly a year ago.
Expressing his support and admiration, Kejriwal took to Twitter to share pictures of their meeting, referring to Jain as “the brave man… the hero.” The Delhi chief minister’s visit served as a gesture of solidarity and concern for Jain’s well-being.
Satyendar Jain was initially admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital following his collapse at Tihar Jail. However, due to his deteriorating health condition, he was subsequently transferred to the LNJP Hospital, where he currently remains under medical care.
Prior to this incident, Jain had sought medical attention for a spine problem at Safdarjung Hospital on May 22. Following an examination by the doctors, he left the hospital accompanied by police. These medical concerns have added further challenges to Jain’s ongoing legal battles.
Jain has been facing allegations of money laundering, with accusations that he laundered money through four companies purportedly linked to him. The Enforcement Directorate had taken action last year, attaching properties worth Rs. 4.81 crore associated with five companies involved in the money laundering case.
Satyendar Jain’s arrest in May last year led to his extended period of custody, as the legal proceedings continued. The recent visit from Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal demonstrates the support and solidarity within the Aam Aadmi Party for their colleague during this challenging time.
The exact nature of Jain’s medical condition and his expected recovery timeline remains undisclosed. However, with the Chief Minister’s visit, it is evident that Jain’s health continues to be a matter of significant concern for his party and supporters alike.
As the legal proceedings regarding the money laundering case progress, the focus remains on Jain’s recovery and his ability to participate actively in his own defense. The Aam Aadmi Party continues to extend its support to Jain, emphasizing the importance of justice and fair treatment throughout the legal process.
The meeting between Arvind Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain serves as a reminder of the camaraderie and solidarity that exists within the party, even during challenging times. As Jain’s treatment and legal proceedings continue, the AAP will undoubtedly closely monitor his progress and extend their unwavering support to their fellow party member.
