BSP chief Mayawati recently convened a meeting of senior party functionaries from Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, and Jharkhand to invigorate the party cadre in preparation for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party issued a statement highlighting the importance of this gathering.

During the meeting, Mayawati expressed her concerns about the political situation in Jammu and Kashmir. She lamented the dominance of corruption and abuse of power in media headlines, emphasizing the need for development, peace, stability, and timely assembly elections. Mayawati urged the party to remain fully prepared as elections in the region could occur at any time.

Referring to the recent change in government in Himachal Pradesh, where the Congress emerged victorious, Mayawati acknowledged the public’s active engagement in addressing their problems. She urged the BSP to address any shortcomings and strive to progress in the state. In Jharkhand, Mayawati gave instructions to infuse “young blood” into the party, emphasizing the importance of rejuvenating the organization.

Mayawati also addressed the ongoing power struggle between the Centre and the Delhi government. She expressed concern over the mutual distrust, non-cooperation, and collision between the two, which adversely affects the common public. Mayawati questioned the cooperative federalism model, highlighting the continuous intervention of the Supreme Court in the conflicts between the two governments.

Highlighting the growing disillusionment with the Congress, BJP, and AAP governments, Mayawati mentioned that people across the country are dissatisfied with rising inflation, poverty, unemployment, inadequate education, and healthcare facilities. She criticized the BJP government for its lack of attention to these pressing issues.

Mayawati emphasized the changing political landscape, with people awakening to the empty rhetoric, electoral incentives, and excessive use of religion by political parties. She predicted that this shift would provide the BSP with an opportunity to contest elections on a more level playing field.

Furthermore, Mayawati acknowledged the anger among people from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes over the dilution of reservations. This sentiment highlights the importance of addressing the concerns of marginalized communities.

Overall, Mayawati’s meeting with senior party functionaries aimed to galvanize the BSP cadre ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The party chief stressed the need for preparation, rejuvenation, and addressing the pressing issues faced by the people. Mayawati expressed optimism about the changing political landscape and the potential for the BSP to capitalize on these shifts in the upcoming elections.
