Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir – The Srinagar Smart City project continues to make significant strides in its efforts to develop modern infrastructure and breathe new life into the city’s historic legacy. On May 12, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated three completed Smart City projects and 25 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) projects, marking a major milestone in the city’s transformation.

The inauguration ceremony, attended by government officials, dignitaries, and local residents, symbolised the commitment of the administration towards the holistic development of Srinagar. The projects showcased a seamless blend of modern amenities and the preservation of the city’s rich heritage, ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future for Srinagar.

One of the flagship projects inaugurated was the revamped Dal Lake waterfront, which has undergone a comprehensive facelift. The new infrastructure features improved walkways, well-planned seating areas, eco-friendly lighting, and enhanced waste management systems. Another project inaugurated was the construction of the Srinagar Mobility Hub, a state-of-the-art transportation facility aimed at providing seamless connectivity and enhancing public transportation services. The hub integrates various modes of transportation, including bus services, shared mobility solutions, and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure. This development will not only alleviate traffic congestion but also promote sustainable travel options, reducing the city’s carbon footprint.

With the restoration and preservation of iconic structures, heritage buildings, and cultural sites, the project aims to showcase Srinagar’s rich cultural heritage and promote tourism. The Heritage Walk will provide locals and visitors with an immersive experience, allowing them to explore the city’s architectural marvels and learn about its glorious past.

In addition to these Smart City projects, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha also inaugurated 25 Urban Local Bodies (ULB) projects, which encompassed a wide range of developments, including improved waste management systems, water supply infrastructure, and urban beautification initiatives. These projects will significantly enhance the quality of life for the residents of Srinagar and contribute to the overall progress of the city.Furthermore, the government also dedicated Urban Local bodies (ULB) projects.Highlighting the Polo View market as just the starting point, he mentioned that the Srinagar Smart City project is currently working on developing similar markets in areas such as Residency Road, Lal Chowk, and the old city in the days to come.

Speaking at the inauguration, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the Smart City initiatives and emphasised the importance of sustainable and inclusive development.
