Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of stalling projects started by the Congress government whenever it comes to power in the state. He cited the Barmer refinery project as an example of this, saying that the project had incurred additional expenses due to the delay caused by the BJP government. Gehlot also mentioned the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP), which was started by former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and is currently being continued by the Congress government. However, he said that despite writing letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is yet to receive a reply regarding the project being declared a national importance.

Gehlot made these comments while inaugurating the Mini Secretariat building in Alwar district. He also promised that Alwar would be a priority whenever a new division is formed in the state. Recently, the Rajasthan government announced the formation of three new divisions in the state.

The chief minister exuded confidence that the Congress government would be repeated in the upcoming assembly elections. The state will go to the polls in 2023, and the Congress is currently in power with a majority.

The accusations made by Gehlot highlight the political differences between the Congress and BJP in Rajasthan. This is not the first time that such allegations have been made, and it remains to be seen how they will play out in the upcoming elections.
